The objective of the Emergency Narcotics Operations course is to provide officers working narcotics operations with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively mitigate risks that often arise in the course of their duties. This is especially relevant in working investigations with undercover officers and confidential sources. In many of these incidents officers on the scene are faced with exigent circumstances that would make calling for a specialized response team ineffective. The course provides a thorough foundation in dynamic hostage rescue tactics. Upon completion of the instruction students will demonstrate, in realistic force on force scenarios, their comprehension of the tactics but also their ability to apply critical thinking as to what is the most effective and legal tactics to utilize. The tactics instructed are proven by some of the most successful military and law enforcement units in the world and are consistent with current professional best practices.
